If that's the case, it's really as simple as getting a PPIMV.

$8, 100% removable to stock by using a spare speaker jack hole, consists of just a few wires and sounds fantastic.

yeah? will it still get the cranked marshall tone when hot plated? or will it change the mojo a bit?

With a PPIMV, it'll be oh so slightly quieter than stock when the pot is maxed. However, if you raise the 220k bias splitter resistors to around 400k each when you fit the PPIMV, the PPIMV will be 100% out of the circuit when it's maxed.

In either instance, you'll definately still get the cranked Marshall tone when hotplated. Whether you'll hear the difference with the first instance when using a hotplate is debatable, but even if you do it'd be very slight.
