More Seth Lover stuff

Dang Marinblues got me all hopped up this morning :D

Here's a clip I laid down real fast, so forgive the clams (hey, what am I saying, I always have clams! )

Epi Dot w/Seth Lovers -> Blackstone MOSFET -> VS Rte 66 compressor -> Deluxe Reverb II (clean channel) -> mic -> UB802 mixer -> PC -> n-Track software. Just a little delay and 'verb added in the mix. The 'verb is about 1/2 of the amp's own and 1/2 added.

mmm, jazzy thang going on there....great playing and tone, as normal. lol

do that track without the lead guitar and have your friend from germany do soem vocals! that would be killer......

even though, the lead guitar is sick on this tune...

Re: More Seth Lover stuff

Great tune . . . great tone. :)

Now, I need to go practice some more. ;)

Re: More Seth Lover stuff

Thanks guys! I did a slight remix and replaced the tune. Listen again if you wish. I think the new mix opens up the guitar sound a bit :D

Re: More Seth Lover stuff

Between you and Marin now you got me wanted to do something. Sometimes the quick takes are the best. Often the more run throughs I do the more sterile it becomes. The problem I always face is to leave the rough spots, try and redo the entire thing and lose the spontaneity, or try and do a patch job. Oh #ell I just leave em, not like I'm doing it for a living or anything (besides then everyone knows it was real  ). Love the ending, simple and sweet.

Re: More Seth Lover stuff

I know exactly what you mean Al.C about the takes. Ive been trying to get this blues track down ive written and its got some fast bits that i cant quite get properly yet, but when i was trying to record it the other night after a few takes i just became a bit sterile i think. I really noticed the difference when i played it straight off the next day and it felt so much more alive first time round.

As for the track, im about to listen to it ;)

Re: More Seth Lover stuff

Great sound as always. Next humbucker guitar is likely getting a set of Seth's in it, I just dig every clip I hear with them.

Re: More Seth Lover stuff

Thanks for listening, guys :D

Al, I know what you mean about too much repetition. I usually record a couple takes and keep the best one. That one most often turns out to be the second one. It's like I loosen up the first time through, then it comes out on the second take. Mostly anything after that just gets stiffer and less organic sounding. I've got no technique, so I'm all about the feel!

Re: More Seth Lover stuff

Wow! Really nice track. You really have the Peter Green feel. You'd better be changing your name to Peter Green Fan. Reminded me of the Fleetwood Mac track 'Love that burns'. (same vibe - not copied).

Wow, thanks! I'm not familiar with any of Peter's work (I think) but I know he's held in wide regard, very kind of you to make that comparo.
