I have one, love it. Is solid as a rock, good tone, though not like a traditional vintage wah that works with pots. The standard Bad horsie mode works well (when contour mode is off so the standard fixed settings are used). Switching on contour mode allows you to tweak the sweep and gain. I don't find i need that mode as much but it is handy sometimes. I also like the step on activation, nice and simple. However it does mean you cant turn it on and leave the pedal in a position to act as a filter. I'm really pleased with mine, i got mine off ebay cheaper than the cheapest crybaby and it is simply fantastic. As long as you dont mind the sprung, step on activation and the modern tone it should serve you well

It was good, it's really tight and not as messy and piercing as the JH-1 is. For a lack of a better description I felt like I had more control compared to the Dunlop wahs I've tried. I did feel like I needed just a little more though, it was ok-ish clean
BTW: I tested the BH2 and the BH next to eachother and felt like the only thing the BH2 added was a thinner sound which is actually very bad. So defenitely stick with the BH(1)

Like others have said, buy a BH1 and save the difference in price.
The original Bad Horsie has a nice sweep, it’s optically controlled (no noisy pots), and solidly built.
Note: There is a trimmer pot inside the main housing that can be adjusted to vary the duration the effect will stay on when you rock back to the heel down position.
You can also remove the return spring if you want to use the wah as a fixed filter. (Just tighten up / install rubber washers at the pivot point to keep the pedal from drifting)

have a BHII and had BHI and an original crybaby. I like the BHII the best. Love the step activation. $200 seems steep to me for some reason. I don't remember payin that much for it. but its been a coulple years. They're on Musician's Friend for $130 american which is like $150 Canadian. Offer him $75 canadian... it's reasonable. And if he doesnt lke it go to musician's friend.
