i need a new volume pedal. ive been looking at these for a while since my GC seems to have them constantly on sale.

specifically i am looking for something designed to sit at the end of my chain, right before the amp, since i have read there is a difference depending on where they are in the chain.

almost every1 seems to use an ernie ball, are they that much better?

I do, and it's quiet, and lets you set a "rhythm" volume with the toe up, then you can toe it down to full for leads, or louder parts. Nice, and has no pot to get scratchy.

Re: morley little alligator

I bought a Morely Little Alligator because of the adjustable "minimum" setting. That's cool, but the taper was very fast for me. EB VP Jr. works great for me. You might check out Morely's PVO+ as an alternative - it has an audio taper instead of the Alligator's linear taper and isn't designed to go in an effects loop. Just guessing, but it may have a more useful range.
