I must have listened to this a dozen times now. Thanks for posting this. That’s amazing. I had heard it before but never knew the name of it. And I had never heard Roy Buchannon’s version.


Did anybody else notice that his (Moore’s) neck pickup is installed backwards and that it looks like all of the screws have been removed?
What’s that all about?

peter greens lp, the screws are just sunk down below the level of the cover, maybe flush with the top of the bobbin.

roy wrote the song, the version i know best is from his '72 album

Yeah, looks like the screws are sunk below the cover. I've flipped neck pickups around like that and the tone got a little snappier with the screw poles facing the bridge. I have the Screamin' Demon like that now in one of my guitars (yes, in the neck spot).

I think Roy Buchanan (the original composer) 's verision is the best. He always played a Tele...
and it really takes a MAN to play a Tele!
