Hi guys,
I finally ditched the crappy Digitech studio 100 unit that I was using through the fx loop of my 5150. What a major difference!!!! I had no idea that the studio 100 was colouring my sound so much. Everything sounded so much more defined and had more harmonics + less compressed. I can actually hear the attack of my pick on the strings now and the decay of each note is more natural sounding.
Because the 5150 does not have any built in effects, I am having to play without reverb at the moment. :< I am looking for a good, clear-sounding multi-fx unit that does not color my sound. Primary effects that I use: Reverb, delay, and maybe some flanger/phaser effects, but that's it.
I am now very cautious of the low end digital rack fx and I am looking for something relatively higher end, but preferably not more than $500 or so. Any recommendations?
PS: I am not opposed to trying out stomp-box reverbs etc, but I heard that the Boss ones do color the sound and aren't as transparent as the higher end rackmounted units.
