Multieffect, Single Stomps, or Revamp

I have been looking itno expanding my pedalboard a little bit, and I was wondering if it would be wise to look into a multi effects processor or stick with Single stompboxes... My setup curently looks like this

MIM strat(Lace Sensors) or ESP EC400AT(JB/59) --> TS9(home made) -->MXR10 band--> Duncan SFX03-->Fender Blues Jr.

I play alot of more metalish stuff (yea I know its not really a metal amp, but its quiet for the appartment), but also I play in our worship band, so I need some nice cleans as well. I had a 6505 but the thing was insanly loud, but when I got to crank it I loved the tone, so I am looking for a sound something like that.

I have been looking at the new Rocktron Utopia and have read that it has much nicer sound than the digitechs or others, but im not sure if i need all those effects, or if it would defeat the purpose of the preamp pedal.

As for the single effects I have been looking at the Rocktron Short timer(heard great things) and a Korg pedal tuner. I dont really play live other than clean, so the multi would only really be used for home, unless i found some really nice settings I like.

I would also be open to any other suggestions including trying a different setup without changing guitars, but i need to keep it quiet and preferably tube amped.

Thanks in advance.

True, but our worship leader doesnt really like it, so its a rare occasion where it is used. Trust me theres nothing better than a punk rendition of Silent Night.

I'd stay with a few basic stomp boxes personally. My experience with multi effect processors is you loose the sound of your amp, what you get thru most multi effects units will the sound the same (bad IMHO) thru any amp. Find the stomp boxes that enhance your sound and work well with the amp of your choice to get what you want. Last year I bought a new amp (Bogner Shiva) and began to build a new pedalboard for it, but the more I play thru a good amp the less I use effects. My board has a CE2, a DD3, TS9 and a Wah. I use the Chorus and Delay when playing clean and I alternate between the TS9 with the gain all the way down in the clean channel and the OD channel and thats about all I really need! Try using less effects and more of the amp it really allows you a very large tonal range.

If someone out there made a 6v6 plexi that I know of with a PPI master volume, I'd recommend that and the pedals you've already got. Unfortunately, I don't know of any at the moment.
