I just got back from a local guitar store, I tried out of few guitars, you guys might wanna know my opinions.
All axes tested on: Fender Cyber Deluxe

LTD EC-1000. (LP ripoff (pricetage $1599 AUD))
Ok, This had particularly high frets, I dont know if all of them do, But this one was loaded with EMG's and man, It doesnt lay a finger on my epi.
Playability was average (those frets sucked), Sound was mediocre.

ESP Camo Viper. (SG ripoff (pricetag $2999 AUD))
All I can say is, DAMN! this was one fine axe. Once again, loaded with EMG's, and this one took the cake. Very light guitar, alrite sound (duncans would fix).

Fender USA Highway One Strat (Pricetag $1599 AUD)
Surprisingly a very nice guitar.
Very easy to play (due to light factory strings) but I've always liked strats for their ability to be dug into (if i got one it would get the 52-11 treatment).

Fender USA 50th Anniversary Strat (pricetag $3999 AUD)
To my dismay, I prefered the Highway One.
This one just didnt communicate with me. It wasn't a match at all.

Cool reviews - funny isn't that the one that sang to you was the US Highway 1 strat? Can't wait for mine to arrive!!

yeah, new strats are usually a crapshoot ...

the 'deluxe' models usually have very nice fit & finish, but I test drove one last year that wasn't light :sad:

personally, I don't care for the cosmetics on this year's "Deluxes" overall, compared to vintage series - very little selection

I've been wanting to look at a new Tele Deluxe, though

yeah they are. i got my ec-1000 for $600 u.s. including hardcase

Man, $1100 for a Highway One??!! I think they go new over here at a lot of places for about $600 U.S. Are those prices suggested retail or the actual prices?
That didn't surprise me that the Highway One Strat was an enjoyable experience. I've read many posts here about that model and it seems to be a popular axe. I'll have to try one next time I'm around one.

Yeah those prices are expensive. Both of those Strats would be well under a grand in the States. American Deluxes would be in the 1G+ range.

Mexi strats list price here is $999 AUD
USA strats list price here is $1999 AUD
Highway 1 strats list price is $1799 AUD

Yeh, Guitars here are more expensive than the states.
For the entrepenure (like myself) this is a very good thing.
I just dont have starting capital to buy any gear...

very nice man i got strats myslef, but im kinda turning LP now... i would imiagine they would cost more because of the shippping it takes afer al they are mad ein north america and have to be shipped down under. Grandor how much would say a gibson LP studio cost? standard? custom?!?!??! haha mustbe killer...
