Phantasmagoria
watch where you point that sabre
Yesterday I went down to a nearby guitarstore to get myself a strap for my Xiphos..
And there's this other dude who was there to buy a guitar and had narrowed it down to two. One being one of those new Indonesian made Fender's that everyone seems to be cribbing about & the other being this Tagima..
Anyway, as so often happens, guy was vascillating, said he could'nt decide & would come over again later and see...
Long and short of it was... I sniped it. I was drooling over it the moment I set eyes on it. Man there was absolutely no contest... this axe blew the Indo Fender away six ways from Sunday. Dude must've been blind & tone deaf. Anyway, I made the decision a lot easier for him...
This was the only piece they had of the Tagima axe & the Fender's are all over the place, like every store everywhere. They told him that too..but eh..people are so hung up on brands. Price-wise they were about the same..
Anyway, as soon as he pushed off I played it a bit (man.. it played phenomenal & sounded incredible!) And that was that, picked up another strap for it & home it came w/ me
I always liked the Tagima model (angular black one) Kiko Loureiro used to play in the 90's with Angra, it looked like something out of Star Wars
Plugged it into my Line 6 DT50 a short while ago... & tried a ballad w/ the neck pup (switched to the bridge towards the end..) You could melt panties in your sleep with the tones..just f'n fantastic. Plays beautifully too. This is easily as good as a high end Ibby AZ or my FGN's..
Absolutely love the colour/stunning top too...super unusual, plus the fretboard is drop dead gorgeous. Flawless fretwork...aesome neck..kinda substantial but smooth and fast. Pup's are brilliant. No complaints there. A great playing, high quality axe for not much more than what the Indo Fender cost..
