music yo kramer "1984"

Re: music yo kramer "1984"

I don't have one, but I'm pretty sure it's flush. From what I've read, they are decent guitars for the money.

The Floyd can only go down, if that's what you mean.
It's supposed to be very good, and it's obviously and EVH type guitar; Gibson pup, MXR knob for volume, Floyd, paintable finish, etc.

I'd also be interested in hearing from someone who owns one of these. I've been looking for a nice Kramer for a project, but the original Pacer Specials are hard to find, and the few I've seen on Ebay went for over $500. Anyone know if the neck pockets on these are Strat-compatible? I have a feeling I'd end up wanting to put a Warmoth neck on one of these.

It would definitely be considered a 'guilty pleasure guitar.' I guess if I found a red or black one real cheap, I'd have fun turning it into either a 5150 or a VH II model.
I doubt I'd take it outta the house, but I've always secretly wanted a black/yellow
VHII guitar. Only mine would have the regular Floyd, not the one without fine tuners, like the original. I'd also want the strat headstock, like the original.

Re: music yo kramer "1984"

Er the org ones where not Kramers.
The 5150 was a Kramer, the stratheads where either org Fenders or parts stuff, the Kramer strat bodies are not shaped like a normal strat, plus Eddie changed the necks like constant on the Frankenstrat and a few of the others, anyways I have tried one of those 1984's....great old superstrat.
Plug in a EVH or a CC and you have that sound!!
Not close or almost...it is that sound.
Stripe it, paint it, make some of those fun 80's graphics on it....it is a timemachine.
I want one with a single humbucker, install a on/on/on switch for parrallel and split plus seriel modes, and it is quite a useful and yet simple guitar...
It has an OFR and the neck is...smooth and feels great.
The body is alder, the tuners are of course Schallers, the pickup is a Gibson one(replace it) the outputjack is a switchcraft(nice)
Well I would jump on one if I ever had the chance.

Re: music yo kramer "1984"

I didn't realize this was a Korean guitar until I read some of the reviews. They are assembled in America, but $700 new is a lot for Korean parts assembled in America. They do have original Floyds and a Gibson pickup, but apparently the pickup is mounted way too low in the body, so you'll have to shim the pickup to raise the height. There are also some problems with the skunk stripe separating from the rest of the neck. After reading all of that, I'd probably go with an original Kramer instead.
