mxr carbon copy? (digital or analog or both)

Re: mxr carbon copy? (digital or analog or both)

The DD-20 isn't a half bad unit for a Boss digital delay. Not the best thing going but its analog and tape modes aren't half bad, its very versatile, well made and easy to use. One cool thing about it is that you can enter time sig in bpm's instead of just miliseconds

RE-20 Space Echo sounds pretty convincing as well.

Granted stuff like the DD5 and DD3 are a bit steril and digital but I wouldn't lump all Boss delays into one group

You need the right tool for the job

Nothing says "You're In Love" by Ratt like a DD-3. And so it goes for most 80's metal.

Then again, "Comfortably Numb" is most comfortable with analog. As with most classic rock.

Just depends on what you want/need like. I dig both tones.

Yes they do, that is why a DD-6 cost more than an EHX DMM.
And the Boss has more features than the all analog Deluxe Memory Man, but i will take the EHX unit over the Boss every time.
In fact, if there is one Boss product that i do not like one bit, it would be their delay's.

James

how about the echozar, and MOOG delay? well maybe those are overpriced.

i think its irrelevant to genralize prices of analog delays with digital ones. but nevertheless i always thought that the average price of most analog/tape/non-digital delay are more expensive than digital
