Doc - i fyou have not yet got the rippah or whatever then here's my vote for the MXR.
Its wicked.
Mike rocker mentioned that the wah is not very pronounced -- but im guessing he did not access the internal q trimmers and gain control for the two inductors. You can trim it to be totally over the top if thats what you are after.
How does it compare to a GCB crybaby - clearer, fatter, more flexible and no volume drop.
Hendrix - way better for the same reasons.
My old vox - again - the yellow fasel option is much sweeter.
Modern vox - way better.
Morley? - warmer and more vocal - also - works great with high gain, and given the 2 inductor options it is more versatile.
The Red fasel option is really cool too - thick and throaty. Like you, i play mostly using humbukers and i tend towards the darker end of the sonic spectrum - i use the red fasel mostly and love it.
I dont use the built in boost, but its there as an option too.
Its a killer pedal , and the best crybaby ive tried (however i cant comment on the fulltone or teese wahs cos i have never tried those). I know the grass is always greener, so my MXR is staying on my board until someone lends me a teese etc, so i can give them a fair comparison. Until then, ill say its the most useable and sweet sounding wah ive tried. True bypass, tweakable and all the mods alrwady built into it. Its a pro piece of gear right out of the box.
