Well, it happened again. I was setting up and not really paying attention. Then, I go and turn all the way down to test monitors and notice there's still a lot of volume. I get it home and reset it back to factory settings with no change. Line 6 will get a call today....

Are you sure it´s the amp that´s failing and not just you turning into an old, crabby, "GET THE HELL OFF MY LAWN AND TURN THAT RACKET OFF!!" Geezer? :D

To be honest, modeling amps have a life of about 6 years and then they start crapping out. It's because of all the heat those transistors generate, right next to software and tiny components. My modeler is dead too and I doubt I'll ever buy another one.

That seems a bit off. I've had a Line6 AX2 for at least 10 years and the only problem I've ever had with it is my clumsy ass breaking off a Pot shaft. It got TONS of use over the years: gigs, recording, most of my learning...

Maybe I've been lucky?

I called Line 6 yesterday and explained the whole thing to them. They said to install the latest firmware. I had already done that. After I told them I had reset the amp about 20 times along reverting back the the original flash memory and upgrading again and again, they said it was probably a hardware issue. This amp isn't worth a $40 diagnostic fee and $80/hr service...

Butch...If I were you, I would seriously consider getting away from the modeling amp concept....when they break...it is broke for good. I think modelers are great for the bedroom player and occasional jam session....I would not trust one at a gig.

I think something like a Blues Jr, Classic 30 or some other reasonably inexpensive, but fairly solid little tube amp would suit you...a used would even be cheaper and leave some money for effects and such.

My very humble 2 cents.

I like my POD. I'm using it tonight at rehearsal.

Often, glitches can be fixed with a simple restart.
