My Charvel Project!

I thought I'd share my 1989 Charvel 375 Deluxe.

Had this guitar for many years and recently started to upgrade the majority of parts as it had seen better days.

It's seen a fair few upgrades so far - pretty much anything you can do I think I've done!

Here is a sweep of my 89 Charvel 375 I'm bringing back to life!

Mods so far:

New electronics - YJM speed pot (500k), Bourns pull push tone pot (500k), Fender 3 way switch, switchcraft output Jack, orange drop cap, all copper shielded.

Pickups - Seymour Duncan 59 bridge, dummy pickup cover middle and Seymour Duncan hot rails neck

Bridge - new genuine Schaller baseplate, new saddles, new big brass block

Tuners - genuine Schaller tuners

Genuine Schaller metal strat type volume/tone control knobs and genuine Fender pickup selector tip

Dimarzio leather clip lock strap

New custom engraved truss rod cover

Next thing on my list is new frets and removing the finish on the neck, then it'll be finished!

What do you guys think?

Thanks!

Awesome axe man! Love the Charvel guitars!

What do you think of the '59/Hotrails Combo? I love the JB/Hotrails combo–haven't tried the '59 with them.

If you are going with new frets then I would suggest Stainless Steel Medium Jumbo...I love my SS frets and won't go back! ;)

I think the 59/hotrails sound great together! I had the 59 with intentions of putting in a YJM in the neck but required too much routing/trouble to make it fit so went for a hot rails as I saw Rob Chapman using it and thought it sounded nice!

Frets wise I'm not sure what to go for yet, will be a while until that happens as I've gotta save up a bit for that job!

Awesome dude! Love my 375...although mine is much more beat up than yours hah.

Can I ask where you got the baseplate/ what model? I'm going to need to replace mine soon.

I haven't tried the 59 in the bridge...never cared for the neck version in any guitar I tried. lol

Are you located near Atlanta, GA? I know a guy who does great fret work at a super reasonable price!

59 works great for me in the bridge! I like it so far, who knows I may change down the line if i get bored!

I'm based in the UK so unfortunately prices are a bit higher for most things here!
