My custom made guitar - what do you think?

Re: My custom made guitar - what do you think?

Your kind of a one track minded fellow? How is it only good for playing muse? Muse opened up a new genre, a new level of playing. Its inspiring, and motivating me to come up with my own view, still very much influenced by them. They are brilliant. 3 men can sell out entire venues. Thats amazing.
Thats as ridiculous as saying to whoever bought and started using the 2nd guitar ever made. "I hope you only play what the first guy started playing, because thats all its good for."
Widen your imagination.. Also playing music is a hobby. If you enjoy playing, even if its covers, then play. Its an art. :)

Ok. I can see your point. I apologize, as I was making a generalization based on artists that I know that use that piece of equipment. I did not mean to offend anyone, and only saw this as an exaggeration. And I agree that music is an art, but to me, art isn't doing whats already been done. It's doing what hasn't been done or interpretting a subject in a different way. art movies someone, and if it's a cover of a song, then to me it really isn't art. But as I stated before, I do not mean to offend anyone. This is only for the sole purpose of describing the guitar as I see it. If you like it, and use it to the full extent of it's abilities, then good for you. I for one will never use a Kaoss Pad, but that is my own problem.

Hey i much appreciate your response, i apologize too if i came off too strong. After all i did ask "What do you think"? in my subject title. I agree with your points, still the entire world cant become rock stars. so alot of people who play music is because it is fun, even if covering. Everyone usually still ends up making up thier own songs at some point though. I totally understand how so much is just copied over and over again, especially whats played on the radio. Thier just catchy, repetitive and simple, for some reason thats popular. To deeper musicians its a bit frustrating, especially when they are getting rich off of it. lol.
Anyways play on fellow musician. Play on!

This is soooooo col , I have synth guitar and this Kaos pad is not the same and I like it , it's really innovative .

I have been thinking making my own axe with what I have and then what you have put on - -

and you have gone and done it

I got into the idea a while back and joined this forum to learn something about stuff like this :

Get some vids posted of it in action I am interested in seeing and hearing . These days ( and when I was in my 20s I began to see it this way ) visual impact goes with the sound scape for max reaction .

Looking forward to seeing and hearing you play that bad boy .

Re: My custom made guitar - what do you think?

I absolutely love that guitar and I'd love to tear my old Squier to pieces and see what I could do with a controller like that on one of my guitars.

And why take him down FFS? At least he's doing his take on something that came up last decade and not in 1973 like many of us old farts here.

Thanks bud, I appreciate it. Yeah I want to try new things wih this. I cannot wait to get some new songs made up with this. I'm 24 years old, is that not an old fart yet?

Re: My custom made guitar - what do you think?

That finish is beyond awesome. Love the swirls. How did you get the water drops effect? Nice neck too.

So that's a MIDI controller? AWESOME! Can you hook it up via USB to a computer? Man, it'll be killer if it can be set to control synth VSTi's.

I remember a few years ago when Matt B. first brought it to the spotlight. Everyone went crazy trying to find used Fender Cyclones as it was one of the few nice guitars with enough space to fit a Kaoss Pad. Saw many of them butchered by failed attempts hahaha.

Re: My custom made guitar - what do you think?

Why am i even dignifying this with a response. Your an idiot. Giving you a name was stupid.

Don't bother with fighting with this guy... he can be a pain in the @ss sometimes.

I actually really dig this guitar. I thoroughly appreciate the birdseye (?) neck.

Thanks bud, are those images of yours that you have now? thats pretty clever. Yeah the difference i see in your pic is that you have the kaoss pad actually installed on the guitar, what mine is, is the midi controller, which actually can control multiple things. i like your style though. I dont take credit for this though. I can advertise that if anyone wants this done, or has other ideas, get in touch with James Cherry of Two Cherries Instruments. He's a simple shop guy in Salt Lake CIty, Utah. Great pricing, and great work.

I will definately be posting videos when i can. it will be under my user name
whydudesta on YouTube.

The water drop effect can be done a few ways, here is a link to one of them.

You can hook it up to pretty much anything with a Midi output that can be controlled with an x/y axis.

yeah, its definately tricky to get the right body to have enough space for this. :scratchch

Re: My custom made guitar - what do you think?

That looks fantastic. Congrats. Is using the midi controller a bit hit and miss, or can you be pretty consistent with the sounds it allows you to generate?

Re: My custom made guitar - what do you think?

It reminds me of this...

... That was a compliment.

Re: My custom made guitar - what do you think?

I like the project, the finish looks great and it seems that any amp would work. Maybe the Egnater tweaker to customize the sound.

the more you use it, the more youll understand, and be consistent. There will be slight variations from time to time, but honestly it can be tamed. :)
