My custom made guitar - what do you think?

Re: My custom made guitar - what do you think?

It reminds me of this...

... That was a compliment.

well muse's new album The 2nd law is coming out soon and be prepared for them to incorporate some dub step with his guitar. it will be interesting.

Re: My custom made guitar - what do you think?

I like the project, the finish looks great and it seems that any amp would work. Maybe the Egnater tweaker to customize the sound.

Thank you, much appreciated. I have not used the Egnater tweaker before. I have my set up already, i was just curious what others would do. I need to get better performance equipment because i spent so much on recording equipment.

Re: My custom made guitar - what do you think?

That's awesome, dude. Nice work. :beerchug:

I actually have a Kaoss pad lying around here somewhere that I've never really used that much. I've been planning for ages to get a Tele kit and build something like this, but I've just always had higher priorities and no money. Now I'm GASing to get that project going.

Anyways, very cool guitar, man. I can't wait to hear what you come up with using it. Make sure you post something in Tips and Clips when you do. :)

Re: My custom made guitar - what do you think?

This is soooooo col ,

Thanks bud, are those images of yours that you have now? thats pretty clever. Yeah the difference i see in your pic is that you have the kaoss pad actually installed on the guitar, what mine is, is the midi controller, which actually can control multiple things. i like your style though. I dont take credit for this though. I can advertise that if anyone wants this done, or has other ideas, get in touch with James Cherry of Two Cherries Instruments. He's a simple shop guy in Salt Lake CIty, Utah. Great pricing, and great work.

I will definately be posting videos when i can. it will be under my user name whydudesta on YouTube.

=========================

I will be looking forward to hearing your stuff .

So far I have NOT made one as of yet . I do as I mentioned have a full on synthesizer midi guitar already .

I'm thinking on mounting a Kaos pad on mine but I'm not comfortable in putting it on my guitar's finish since it's so beautiful so I am opting to put it on another guitar I have .

What I like is the " straight " layout of the Kaos pad with a standard

[ midi ]
midijack.jpg
in/out 5 pin connection ,

This makes for quite a lot of flexibility and little or no latency in triggering it's sounds and also that of other midi engines too .

The hexaphonic jack ( as on my Godin LGXSA in that pic ) as you can see it quite different :

13pin.jpg

The 13 pin hexaphonic midi from my guitar to the Roland GR33 midi guitar module
DV019_Jpg_Regular_151382.jpg
works flawlessly

but

The five pin out on it seems to have issues of latency triggering other midi module engines and that's not cool if you want to hook up more than one midi engine to trigger more sounds and trigger them all at once .

The five pin seem not to have this issue ? Go figure ?

Also you can go wireless with the Kaos pad and the hexaphonic has not got that flexibility either .

Anyways man cool on your guitar protect , you did a really super job on that build and poop on the one's who make disparaging remarks when they should just not comment at all in the first place .

Peace man :

the paint style is called "swirl paint", basically you dip your guitar in a bucket of water mixed with paint. thats putting it simply. there are quite a few swirl paint demos on youtube. check em out. you can see my guitars swirl paint job by searching two cherries instruments. search through the videos and you will find it. the 3d water and bubble effect came later.

Yeah, I want to try that paint scheme. I get the swirl part but the water drops is what really impresses me. How is that done?

Check out the link I posted in an earlier reply in this thread. It directs you to one way of Doing it. It's a bit tricky at times. Mess around before doing it on a guitar.

Re: My custom made guitar - what do you think?

Not a big fan of the body shape, but really cool guitar nonetheless. I dig the paint job, and the midi control pad is a cool and unusual tool to have on board. Birds eye maple neck looks pretty nice too.

Thanks, I had to go with the alder body. Not too many bodies have the space needed for the midi. It's amazing sound. Especially with bareknuckle pups.
