my dead pickups

i got a set of antiquity strat pickups and sent them to my guitar shop to be soldered together on a pickguard, and the guy calls me today and says two of them dont work. i never did anything to them, and i kept them in the boxes, so what could be the problem?

I'd say he messed them up. I've never heard of antiquities just not working.

ive seen a dead pup or two in my day, but never an antiquity. for two to be bad, id be a little questioning

shoot,
yea he may have grounded out the whole guitar,
start be loosing the pickgaurd..
sometimes it grounds out the 5-way switch to the floors balck sheilding paint.

then flip over the pickgaurd and start tracing the wires to the schematics here..

and if its al all possible.. get an Ohm meter and set it to 1x ohms and try to get ohm readings from each pups leads.

i dont have the pickguard back yet. the guy i gave it to gave me a call and told me about it. im going to go up there tomorrow and see whats going on. thanks for your help so far, ill post more after i talk to the guy.

well i went up to bills, and the guy told me it was just the one (neck) pickup. which is odd, because thats the one i never took out of the box until i was ready to out the pickguard together. so i just need a replacement neck pickup.

hay' look at the fine coil wires real close first , to see if it was sliced through by applying the sharp edged pickup cover..
then its on his dime..

29 day real world and at least a year on mfg defect

it has almost been a year. it was september or october 2004 when i purchased them. i looked at the pickup, there seems to be no defects, no scratches or severs in the copper wire, nothing visibly wrong from what i can see. im gonna probably have to send it to the SD company.
