My DSL is acting funny?

Mr 9finger

Digitally Challenged
It mainly happens on the clean channel, but it will occasionally do it on the gain channel. When I'm playing, the volume will drop out and get real fizzy. If I'm playing on the gain channel, it gets almost clean and really fizzy and then comes back up to normal. It's also loosing a lot of the high end. It seems as if I can't dial enough highs on it.

I'm thinking this a tube problem, but wanted to get a second opinion before I ordered new tubes for it.

Re: My DSL is acting funny?

try replacing your phase inverter, if that don't fix it.. it is most likely a power tube.. I had a similar problem recently and that worked for me

Right on man! I'll give it a whirl and see if that works!

Re: My DSL is acting funny?

I swapped out the phase inverter, but it was a bad power tube. It let me know earlier in a quick blaze of red plate glory right before it went to tube heaven.
