My final gig vids

For those who don't know, I lost most of my hearing a year ago after a simple operation went wrong.
A month ago I underwent major surgery on my right ear to try and restore some level of hearing and I'm currently housebound while I recover.
2 days before the surgery I did a final gig and my mate's wife sneaked a camera in the pub and they gave me a dvd of it this week.... much to my surprise.
The quality's not very good because the pub was very dark and because my hearing was so bad at that point my vocals are a bit out here and there, but my playing's not too bad ( I've learnt to tell when a bent string is in tune by the tension on the string !! )

That totally sucks about your hearing man. How did the surgery to repair the hearing go? Great I hope!!

The bandages and packing get removed on Tues.. snow willing.

Had no pain and the prelimary check showed it was healing well, so I'm staying hopeful.

It's my Anderson, into JMP1 direct to desk... no pedals other than a touch of Chorus on How Long and delay from a G Major.

The Santana intro is just the tone pot rolled off and then back up.

That was awesome, bro! I wish you all the luck in the world with your surgery. If it went well, do you plan on playing out again or is your final gig really your final gig? I hope not. Those backing vocals are super and your singing is fantastic. You have a good band there my friend.

My best friend and I made the backing tracks ourselves.

My singing career is over but I risked the recent op in the hope I can start playing guitar again.

I feel ya bro! I don't have the issue with hearing but having major issues with my fretting hand so I can understand the frustration. Prayers for a full and speedy recovery!

Update for you, bandages came off today and the ear and new ear drum have healed nicely.
I have to wait another 4 weeks before they do a hearing test but at least, after 18 months I now have an intact ear drum and healthy canal.

If nothing else, at least I'll be able to swim and go on an aeroplane again !
