Follow-up post......any ideas on how to remove silver spray paint from speaker cones?
I'm going to strip and re-tolex the cab.

I probably got ripped off for what it is but I paid $50. It's a MF400A. Cosmetically it's clearly a mess but the wood and wiring are solid. The guy said he was in a punk band and spray painted it silver and at a show ripped out the speaker cone. Too funny cause he was a super nice guy. The speakers supposedly work and are Celestion G12-K100s if my research is right.
Pull off the tolex, clean the handles, corners and other plastic parts to get the spray paint off, repaint the baffle black and then probably the hardest part which will be putting in some new grill cloth and keeping it straight. Oh yea, and maybe magically wiping the spray paint off the speaker cones w/o ruining them

Mode 4 cab.... meh Marshalls wanna be Mesa oversize... For what its going to take to put it right in terms of labor and cash I think you got gipped. Good luck with your project.
yea I wouldn't sweat the speakers
grill cloth will cover them
anything you do to them will probably make them worse

For $50 bucks, I would remount the speakers to the front of the baffle and do a re-cone or find another appropriate speaker on e-bay and rock on. Unless of course it's MDF, oh heck for $50 bucks, even if it is MDF.
