My Gibson Gem *gasp* and my Gretsch G5222 for sale!

Note, the prices are shipped, but not paypal. I prefer to get paid with paypal, but I need money. So split the fees with me? Otherwise check will be fine!

First, my G5222:

This is basically a better version of the Fender Champion 600. The wiring is the exact same, but the cabinet is made with slightly better wood, and the construction gives a woodier, deeper tone. The amp sounds decent/good out of the box, but with simple modifications (that I wish I could do if time permitted), this amp sounds incredible. All tube, 12AX7/6V6GT.

Basically, with better tubes than the thing ships with, and a better speaker (6", 4 ohm), this amp sounds awesome. With a few wiring changes and mods to the box, it sounds fantastic!

They sell new - everywhere - for ~$200 shipped. I need to sell in the next 5 days for $160 shipped.

This came to my house 12 hours ago. "New in box" is accurate. I need to sell this! Any questions, just ask.

Next, my *sigh* first Gibson. I need to sell my Gibson Les Paul Studio Gem Series.

Before I even start, the finish is completely ****ed up. There's dings all over the place, and there's checking all over the back. The pickup routes are all messed up (not by me). The bridge should probably be replaced. Some of the wiring needs to be redone. And I just sold the Brobucker out of her, so there's not even a bridge pickup.

But the first time you pick up the perfectly weighted, non-chambered mahogany and maple body, and start playing some blues through a cranked tube amp through the custom wound neck P90, you'll **** your pants.

The neck is perfect. The color is gorgeous. The P90 is utterly fantastic. The frets are good - and the best frets I've ever played on. Even the dings have character! The finish checking is completely awesome, by the way (if you like checking). Comes with the hard Gibson case, which is really beautiful in itself.

Now time for pictures. Please keep in mind that these are all old, my camera is not with me at the moment. Trying to retrieve it. Anyways, here goes:

So there's that. I need to sell this. I will regret it for life in some ways, but I need to sell.

On here, I'll say $750 shipped. This is a Gibson Les Paul for $750 shipped. Please do this! :) Thanks guys!

I've always liked that axe. Will the pup ring cover the routing in the neck for the p90?

Re: My Gibson Gem *gasp* and my Gretsch G5222 for sale!

A humbucker ring covers it perfectly, but I have yet to find a ring to go around the P90. I've heard that you can use "Goof Hiders" from the old LP Deluxes (the minihumbuckers) from the 70's, but I have yet to find any, anywhere.

But if you would want to put a bucker in the neck, it'll look like any other Les Paul. Covers up the route and it's straight.

Re: My Gibson Gem *gasp* and my Gretsch G5222 for sale!

I would always just see that guitar as me playing bigal's gem if i bought it.

shame it is on the chopping block. :(

Re: My Gibson Gem *gasp* and my Gretsch G5222 for sale!

Well the guitar I'd *like* to replace it with is the single prettiest guitar I've ever seen. So it's worth it.

Thanks though. Buy the amp, it's not my amp! :)

Re: My Gibson Gem *gasp* and my Gretsch G5222 for sale!

tempting but my galaxie owns all over it...

IDK why they ever quit making them.

i dunno if this'll help, and i can't remember if it was filtertron rings or gretsch electromatic filter pickup rings but one of them works for p90's

worth checkin out, i think tv jones has dimensions on his site

+1, what's wrong with you!

lol Either of you want to make 75,000 easy payments of one cent? :)

Lots of lowball offers so far, but that's fine. Also have around 25 watchers on eBay, so hopefully someone can spare around $750.

The guitar I'm trying to buy is a once in a lifetime guitar - literally. So it's worth it.

*sigh*

Re: My Gibson Gem *gasp* and my Gretsch G5222 for sale!

Lowest I'll go is $700 shipped! But I need money by Thursday, so at the moment, I don't have too many choices left.

Anyone? Bueller?

Re: My Gibson Gem *gasp* and my Gretsch G5222 for sale!

New pictures! I'm up to around $1,400. If I can sell this for $700, that puts me above my 3 day goal of $2,000. DO IT!

Re: My Gibson Gem *gasp* and my Gretsch G5222 for sale!

Is that the guitar in it's current "as-is" condition?

My offer from the other day still stands... which I think was mighty fair given the schit state it's in...

Re: My Gibson Gem *gasp* and my Gretsch G5222 for sale!

lol Yes, pictures taken last night.

Your offer was beaten by many people on eBay, and I turned them all down. I've got an offer at the moment for close to my asking price, I'll probably take it.

"Schit state" huh? :chairfall
