My latest addition, Gibson content

Oh yeah, it's here.... I'm salivating an scared ****less at the same time

for the last several months I've been looking and searching for a 60's neck LP to replace my beloved Studio Mahogany. I flat out LOVE that guitar, but needed something with a slimmer neck. Been a LP for over 30 years now, had an old vintage burst and a newer standard that I had to let go a few years back when my health took a turn for the worse and I had no insurance. :banghead::banghead:

Now I think just about everyone here can attest to the fact that Gibson necks are all VERY different from one to the next. The beauty and agony of hand carved neck profiles. Almost pulled the trigger on another studio about 6 weeks ago, but it just wasn't a perfect fit...:scratchch

Glad I waited. She's a beauty, and of everything I've looked at and played she has the sweetest neck. Plays like butter up and down. :bling:

Gave her a good once over after initially checking out the neck, and first impressions are very high. The fingerboard is much darker then I expected. Finish is nicely done, the only flaws I find on first glance is a few spots were some colored spots on the binding that weren't fully removed. Nibs on the frets are nicely done. Binding throughout is gorgeous. Better pics to come, I'm gonna go plug in and play for a month or so:D

Congratulations!! I love the looks of those new natural ones.

Where did you buy it from?

Thanks!!! She's definitely a keeper. Wasn't sure if I was going to be into the baked maple, but it plays nice, adds a little more bite and attack. These are great guitars for the money right now. Course you gotta find one that speaks to you personally. I got REAL damn lucky with this one.

Re: My latest addition, Gibson content

how does it hold tuning after bends and stuff? any problems?

So far its been great!!!

This is the first time I can say out of the box guitar was in tune, strings slightly stretched, and action was GOOD (I actually raised it just a hair since I play some slide) After a good warm up and work out, I find my G goes a little sharp or flat, rest rarely need an adjustment.
