My lil 59

Hey I recently put a Lil 59 in the bridge of my stratocaster. Its a natural wood ash body finish and it just doesn't meet my expectations. I have had the pickup too long to exchange it and I already have it in the guitar.
The tone I get from it is too much bass. (I like a trebly pickup)
Its too high output for me too. I actually bought a Dimarzio tone Zone and put it in a totally different guitar and I love it. I'm not saying that I don't love seymour duncan at all I just don't like the lil 59 pickup. I do on the other hand love a JB humbucker in my Hss Strat. Does anyone have any tips or ideas?

Re: My lil 59

raise the bridge side coil's pole pieces up above the top of the bobbin and sink the other bobbins poles down below the bobbin. keep the treble side of the pup itself low and the bass side lower. are you using the stock 250k pots? is the bridge pup on a tone control?

Re: My lil 59

The L59 in my Tele (different pickup, I know) is almost too bright. I'm still getting used to it, but I was really hoping for more of a PAF-ish character out of it.

These single-coil-sized 'buckers are really funky, in good ways and bad, perhaps.

I'm actually using a 500K pot, but a 500K is brighter than a 250K right?

That is a good idea about the bobbin screws, I'll take that into consideration.
I like pickups that have screws to raise and lower the magnet bobbin.
I actually have a great idea!
I want a single coil pickup just like a normal average single coil in a strat, but I would want 6 adjustable pole pieces. Something like a magnetic screw would work. If this hasn't already been made, (which to my knowledge it isn't) Seymour Duncan should take notes!!
