My Mesa Boogie has lost some volume!?... HELP!

Hi guys,
I bought a Mesa Boogie Stiletto Ace a few months back. It sounds FANTASTIC and in that department i couldnt be more happy. But I have a decibel level reader and when i first bought the amp and for some time after when I really opened it up it could go up to about 125 db, maybe even more (REALLY LOUD!). Thats more than enough volume for me. But the other day I was playing and decided to let it blast for a minute or two just to feel that power tube goodness, but instantly noticed that it wasnt nearly as loud as it used to be when i cranked it. Still loud, but when i got out the decibel meter is was at only about 113-115 db. It still sounds great, just not as loud. I looked at the back of the amp and both the power tubes were glowing still, plus it still sounds great so i dont know if its the tubes. Does anyone have any ideas on whats up?

Thanks,
Max

Sounds to me like its time for a new set of tubes. They may look fine right now but they may slowly be going out on you which could explain the loss of volume when your cranked.

Always have extra pre tubes sitting around. That's where I troubleshoot first, if the power tubes are glowing normally.

113db - pretty loud. Hearing loss? Maybe the amp is just as loud.

batteries in the dB meter fresh? .. if the batteries in the db meter are gettin low, it won't read true

and yeah, too loud dude .. i hope you use hearing protection

Are you playing the amp in the same room and position as before? If you are playing in a different (larger carpeted) room or have windows open, or have the db meter placed diff, or any number of variables, your amp might not have lost any output. If nothing has changed, I would have to agree with the others and say you need a new set of tubes.
