My Modified Ovation Celebrity....................

The silicone is a cool idea. If it works it works!
That slickness is the worst part about Ovations. On mine I took an old mouse pad, trimmed it a bit and attached it with automotive spray adhesive. It works well and is attached solidly, but is still easy to remove if I need to.

Yes sir, the silicone works amazing. Absolutely no slipping and the guitar stays put and the bottom doesn't slide upwards when you stand while playing. Your idea looks like it works well also.

Silicone on the back doesn't show, if it works I totally support that.
I can't imagine that that brass bar makes much difference seeing that the strings still have to go through the wood bridge which will absorb the string vibration. I would think that a brass saddle would have much more effect and look much nicer.

It's more about the mass, type of mass and connection of the strings/guitar. Believe me, it definitely helps with the plink and lack of sustain of using electric guitar strings on an acoustic guitar. A brass or aluminum tailpiece on a Les Paul makes a difference in tone and sustain. Yeah, adding a brass saddle would produce even more effect, but I like it the way it is for now.

I play an ovation Celebrity CE48(?). Very interesting mods! I may try one, the other or both.

I played a 1991 Ovation full back Legend today. WOW.

Hmmm. Big stretch for my AA but what would happen if I put a block under the bridge contoured to the back and used ferrules?

I don't know if I'm getting you right, you mean a block under the bridge on the inner side of the front board? I don't know if braces would get in the way, possibly. It would definitely affect the tone, but to what extent I can't say.
You'd also add a bit of string tension/length.

Probably have huge sustain and could be good results. That would be a serious modification. If you decide to do that modification, please keep us posted on the results.

The newer contour bowls don't have the 'sliding' issue at all. But my Adamas was bought before that was a thing. Mine doesn't slide, but it is slightly neck-heavy.

I put Schaller strap locks on my Celebrity using machine screws, lock washers and nuts. maybe if you tried the same thing with your Adamas. Maybe create a little weight made of brass or aluminum as a counter-balance and bore threads for the strap lock screw. Could be a fix for the guitar being neck heavy.

That's exactly what I mean, it shouldn't have to be longer than 10" notching for bracing would be no problem but that brings up the most likely probability that the block would need to be braced.

I went old school...a 1 lb velcro wrist weight around the strap!
