she flung my closet door open and my strat fell face down. only a softcase to protect it. she knows to be careful while she's near my guitars..and she's allowed me to keep it there (so its not my fault if she makes it fall over)
but i just can't help thinking how much my guitar fell down while i wasn't at home (with her being careless as this) :laugh2:

ahh well..it should still be alive right?
gonna go jam guys, cya later!

I don't think you have to worry about a strat...ever. :laugh2:

+1 . strats are bullet proof. have you heard the (early days)buddy guy story? his strat with no case fell from the roof of his car while he's travelling and the only damage aside from the scratches is a bent low-e tuner and only the low is out of tune.

Re: My mom just made my guitar fall

If a strat is knocked down, and only the guilty party is there to witness it, does it actually make a sound?

dun think so.. there aint gonna be no scratches and dings either! nothing happened to the axe if no one else witnessed it. :newangel:

Re: My mom just made my guitar fall

buddy of mine was in a car wreck and his car flipped about 13 times and his strat flew out of his car on about the 7th flip...he went over to it, opened the case, and it wasn't even out of tune. Strats and ****roaches are the only thing that will survive a nuclear holocaust :)

Re: My mom just made my guitar fall

Strats are pretty tough, but I would definitely find another spot for it. Somewhere away from family traffic.

Re: My mom just made my guitar fall

Strats are bullet proof. If I had a nickel for every time one of my guitars fell over, I could retire.

Lucky it's a Strat and not a Gibson! :smack:

Because I have to be so careful with my Gibson, every time I knock my strat against something I'll curse untill I see there's no damage done. How do they do it?! :saeek:

Re: My mom just made my guitar fall

strats are tuff but not bullet proof. ive done quite a few headstocks and neck pockets. if they fall flat its not bad, but if they fall on the side, thats when things can get busted.

Re: My mom just made my guitar fall

I always bang the headstock of my Telecaster copy against my mini-fridge or desk (at my dorm) whenever I sit down/stand-up because I have such a small practice space (the space is literally, like, two or three feet long) and the thing seldom goes out of tune. Fender's and Fender copies are just tough guitars.

And hey, my parents clean my room while I'm away...coil up all my chords and put my guitars up...and they know what to touch and not touch...but you know, sometimes something happens and, thankfully, very little damage is done, but eh, what can you do?

(there was also this other time my Dad dropped my 65 lb. amp on my Ltd. Viper's neck...the thing went totally out of tune, almost crushed the neck...but it slapped back into tune eventually...I hit the guitar so hard that I just band it back to regularity or something)

Re: My mom just made my guitar fall

Ahhhh....did she make your guitar gently weep? :laugh2:

My '63 Strat has survived many face first falls! None lately though. :)

So have I! :laugh2:

Re: My mom just made my guitar fall

Ooh, I know that feeling.

I saved up for over a year to have a local luthier build me a custom dinky strat. I finally got it home, and my mother walks into my room and knocks it off the stand. Being finished in nitro, the entire body and neck checked. I was distraught.

Re: My mom just made my guitar fall

hahaha I've seen Strats survive nosedives from moshpits, over stage lights and, whack, headfirst onto the stage...I never worry about those things.

Re: My mom just made my guitar fall

Accidents can always happen.
That's why I hang my LP on the wall, it's safe there.

You're allowed to keep it there, but it's your choice. If people are going in and around that area and there's the potential for things to happen, well.... it's your choice.:)
