You have a nice collection of strats! I own about 9 strats myself, but I am looking to sell a few. Welcome back to the forum and hope you enjoy it here.

Every time you sell a Strat, God kills a kitten. Do you have mainly "proper" SSS Strats or do you have a few different ones?

Yeah, it was a Black LP Custom, and the first thing that put me off was the cheap gold hardware going all funny. It started a downward sprial and before too long I hated the finish up the neck, hated the scale length, and wasn't inspired to play it at all. I love Les Pauls, I love how they look and sound, but how they feel and play just doesn't work for me.

Nice collection. Not enough Telecasters

Next one will be a Tele. The parameters when buying the American Deluxe was I wanted a guitar that was equal to or better than my number one, and it took literally years to find the right one. The Tele hunt is officially underway though.

Cherry burst is a Gibson term. Fender calls it Sienna Burst.

That's what I thought, but when I bought it and got the receipt, it said "Aged Cherry". I'd always wanted a Sienna Sunburst Strat, but I was happy to make do with what I got

I think it's just the American Deluxe Ash Strat that has Aged Cherry finish. Others in the American Standard Series are Sienna Sunburst.

Yeah; sienna burst is not so bright red, and it's more confined to the outer edge of the guitar.

Most of the collection was acquired whilst still living with my parents. But I hardly drink, I haven't been away on holiday since I was 12, and I don't have a car to run.

When people tell me about expensive holidays they've been on I always think of it in terms of how much gear I could have bought
