How do you guys like this sound? I find it quite good =) I used my Washburn X50 Pro with CC. Cunchy I'd say! Palm mutes are bit lacking though.

Haha, well both Mainly the rhythm, the lead was just a tad more gain and some delay.

K, in that case...as far as Metal tones go, I liked the Rhythm Tone...not too into metal myself, but I can appreciate a good appropriate tone...The lead tone I felt sounded too 80's, compared to the rhythm tone. Not a bad lead tone at all, just the contrast between the two didn't sit well IMO. But regardless, good tones all around.

Thx for the feedback, man. Yeah, have to fiddle with the lead sound much more to make it more modern. Maybe I'll just try to eq it.

Nice, but as you say, could use a bit more bass on the palm mutes.

Parametric eq

-high 8db@4.5khz/medium


Sounds nice with a Custom in a mahogany V, alder 7-string with Custom7, and an alder Warrior/Explorer with patb-2 and tuned down to D

I know that the Eq section is quite funny but that's how I did it I'll take the -3db 100hz drop away from the global though.

Oh, and it's double tracked. That's why it sounds quite heavy with so little gain.

This would be super thick with a bass guitar. That is what our ears are used to.

Which guitarhacks edge? I downloaded the zip file and I've got several folders: the JJ Powertube, Louder JJ Powertube Full Set Straight, Louder JJ powertube samples, multiple fredman straight and 45, original 3, and single fredman and sneap.
There's at least 3 named Edge-1.

And are you running direct to the pc or through an amp? if direct, is your target input set for mixer?

are you also using a global cabinet?

Direct to PC. Yeah, it's set to mixer. Hmmm... I'm not sure, I have a Marshall 1960 Shure SM57 IR from Redwirez (I think it was Cap 1) in there but not sure if it's on. I'll post moar info today.

It was the Edge -1 from the Single Fredman folder

I tried a couple of the edge-1s but not sure which. I'll check when I get home.
I usually leave the global eq flat and use the parametric eq in each patch if I need to.

I also tweaked the setting you posted for a touch more bass in the parametric.

Alrite. Do you have any good presets to share? Yeah, I did that too. Now it sounds better in the recording, even if you cut the bass afterwards. Much tighter sounding.
