Well, I have been on a guitar buying thing lately. Have gotten 5 new guitars in one month. Bought this right before christmas, but havent flashed it yet.
I tried many Strats, custom shops etc. But this cheap little buggah just out played them all. Rids face when he heard it acoustically was worth it all. We both agreed that it a good acoustic guitar as well, lol
Well, its a Classic Player 60s Strat. Basically a 60s Strat style with the new 2point style trem, 9,5 or 12" neck radius, hotter pickups, medium-jumbo frets and a bit more I dont remember (Somebody wanna chime in?)
It had Fender Custom '69s in it, but those were the only thing I didnt like about it.
But I knew what I wanted, a 70s style rock-Strat tone, kinda Blackmore-ish on steroids. So we agreed on a DiMarzio FS-1 for all the positions, but unfortunately, they only had one, so it got in the bridge, and Rid had a Fender A5 single for the middle position (I dont use that one anyway). The neck was a different matter though, but I suggested a Area '58 from DiMarzio, and Rid knew what I liked so he said go for it. And it was splendid, Rid actually talked nice about DiMarzios
I love this guitar, and it is up there with my Nightswan. Its the only Strat I have REALLY bonded with. Everything is perfect on it.
Heres a picture from some jamming I did last night with my JCM800 and my new Plexitone (Thanks Rid) this is old style rock sound for sure!
