I agree with the other posters that the guitar pictured would look much better with a pickguard.
Since you mentioned a "matching painted headstock" I assume your going to get Warmoth to paint it for you too?
You can save some bucks by painting it yourself and have a little more ownership of it because you've put more time and effort into building it. Alder would be easy to paint because it is a closed grain wood. No filling of pores.
It looks naked as is because the program I used to make the picture didn't have the option for the gold individual pickup rings like I posted in the second post. If you've seen these on a strat before, they look pretty cool. I'm not going to paint it myself, I'll muck it up.
What I meant was that I don't really like the look of a bridge single coil on a strat with no pickguard.. it doesn't look right to me on a plain coloured axe.
