My Olans for the day...

Re: My Olans for the day...

Never seen him but when he's over this way I'm hoping to. Enjoy the gig!

Re: My Olans for the day...

Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band played for about an hour and a half...his stuff, couple BB King tunes, Johnny Guitar Watson Song, SRV - House is Rockin', Hendrix - Voodoo Chile as well as a couple other old blues covers. Very enjoyable show and band was KWS, Noah Hunt - Vocals, Tony Franklin - Bass and Chris Layton - drums. Not at all bad for a free concert in the park in the middle of Downtown Denver.

Sounds like a great day! I don't understand why he has someone singing these days.. he used to sing and play in the early days. At least what I always thought

Re: My Olans for the day...

KWS actually sang three songs himself and did harmony on the rest. He wasn't bad but def not a singer. I thought Noah Hunt always sang for him.

Yeah, that's a good day.

I saw him in '98 on his 21st birthday in a small club. He sang everything, and did a damn good job at it. But his playing, hell, you shut your eyes and youd swear SRV was on the stage.

Re: My Olans for the day...

I'd seen him about 4 years ago on the Hendrix Experience Tour with Eric Johnson, Taj Mahal, Buddy Guy, etc. and he was fun to watch but they were playing all Hendrix and he didn't sing at all. He definitely channeled SRV and Hendrix but I was surprised how much more older classic blues he touched upon especially with a couple BB King, Johnny Guitar Watson and another three or four old blues songs. It was a very enjoyable performance and the crowd was into it as well. Started out with probably a few hundred people watching in the fenced in area but when left the park was full of people listening to the show.
