Here it is, my MIM P-bass! The color it's called Midnight Blue and thanks to the nice people at the Fender forum i now know it's from 2001

Nice!

The "brown stuff" on the neck looks to be human blood. Actually, I have no idea.

The pickup, however, I'm sure of. It's a Quarter Pound for P-bass. Solid low end, nice bouncy mids, really solid rock tone. Great if you're playing rock, punk or even metal. One of my favorite pickups.

Killer bass, bro! I think the brown stuff is just a bit of natural coloring in the wood grain. It looks a bit strange, but it shouldn't affect the sound or feel of the instrument.

Great looking bass and I think you will enjoy playing it as well. I think the brown stuff on the neck is either some staining or something that has come through from the neck - have you tried to clean it at all? Use a very (and I mean very little) lighter fuel on a cloth and gently rub the area see if it will lift off. If it does not then don't worry about it and play that thing!!

I used to have a 2001 MIM Jazz in Midnight Blue. I also had a 2001 MIM P-bass in Midnight Wine with a QP in it. It was a cool bass.

Nice color choice.

That's sweet looking with the blackgaurd, but if I were you, I'd put the SPB-1 in it, now THAT pickup has some tone... (drool)
