Improvised it.
I used (SHOCK HORROR!!!) my Ibanez RG 570, with stock pickups and a FLOATING TREM!!.
It's been disassembled for about two years, in need of some serious guitar tech love. Last week I decided to put some spare cash to good use and have it put back together and get the frets levelled, as there was visible fret wear and buzzing all over the neck.
The reason it was pulled apart is because two years ago, I had a stroke of retard. I have two Ibanez guitars; an RS 530 and an RG570. I liked the neck of the RS more (and it doesn't have fretbuzz), so I decided to swap them over so I could have the nicer neck on the RG body with the floating floyd.
Well, I soon realised that the neck joints weren't even vaugely the same :smack:
Putting the RS together again wasn't all that hard, as the trem is non floating. The RG however, I wasn't going to tackle myself... Due to money, poor self diagnosis (I thought it'd need a full refret, turns out it didn't) and prioritising (I've been kinda anti trem for the past two years :laugh2: ) the guitar has just sat unused and not even assembled..
Until today, when I picked it up from Matt Ryan. The guitar plays very nicely indeed, and Matt is great to deal with. He gets stuff sent to him from all around the UK, but luckily he lives just down the road from me. The set up on the RG is ace, it's really easy to play. It's set up for 10s with four springs on the back.
Hope you enjoy the track
