It's not fair to call this a keith richards tele just because it has a HB in the neck cavity. If i put down that kind of money and time on a project just have people call it "Keef-like", i'd be a little effing pissed.

Cause really the HB is the only resemblance. Keef uses a strat knob on the control switch, a bronze (or gold) 6 saddle bridge and removed one of the saddles for his G tuning. I don't see any of that on this guitar.

It's a beautiful guitar JBG. This is the design i was thinking of using. Think i might put a bare neck pickup in or maybe install a nocaster set though. Great job.

If people want to call it a Keith Richards tele thats ok by me. It was partially inspired by the man himself afte all. But, there's a few others whose inspriation went into it. Andy Summers' and Eric Clapton's influence is felt in different places on it. Much of the wiring came from Andy (with a few of my own ideas thrown in) and the neck's shape came from the Clapton strats, while the neck's coloring came from a rather nice `67 buckered tele the Slowhand used to own. He sold it in the last auction.

Thanks! If it plays and sounds even half as well as it looks it's a homerun. Won't know till tomorrow though. Can't wait!

It is a little, but Jeff's had to endure my pestering and incessant tinkering with it for the past year. So who's it been worse for? No one knows for sure. Lol

I certainly hope so. It's going to get a shakedown cruise tomorrow at earthquake volume.

haha, I'm sure you've both been going crazy getting that thing rolling. Hope it's been worth the wait.

More like I had a tendency to change things mid stream. Initally the pickups weren't mounted to the body. Changed my mind there. Initiall there was no out of phase. Changed my mind there. Ect. ALMOST added the Andy Summers bridge. ALMOST. I think Jeff was about to rebel at that point. Lol

That really is a nice hunk of swamp ash. I hope she sounds as sweet as she looks!
