My version of Stevie ray vaughans "Lenny"

Re: My version of Stevie ray vaughans "Lenny"

Your "Lenny" is simply beautiful. Your version can really hold it's own, no dull moments, great tone, and even better playing! I like your trem-vibrato, it's so pleasant.

Beach song was very cool. I'm picturing beautiful ladies, lots of sun, enless stretches of ocean, and just a very warm mood. This one's relax-mania :)

You are awesome, I really dig your music!

Re: My version of Stevie ray vaughans "Lenny"

really sweet playing and tone ... that's a hard song to play really well, and you clearly have spent the time to not have to 'think' about it so that just the 'feel' comes through ... way to go .. thanks for sharing it

cheers

Re: My version of Stevie ray vaughans "Lenny"

Very nice indeed!! This stuff was always my favorite SRV style. Give me a good glassy, smooth neck-middle Strat setting with a little vibrato and I'm hooked. Now, do Riviera Paradise and you'll have me for a fan 4-ever...

Re: My version of Stevie ray vaughans "Lenny"

That was pretty sweet, gavantia. Great tone, very smooth licks.

Unfortunately, I couldn't get the Beach Song to work, but I'll try again later. ;)

Re: My version of Stevie ray vaughans "Lenny"

This was recorded with my squier strat, through my pod xt into cubase. I also recorded the bass through my pod xt.

hey dude !!

i loved 'Lenny' - very well interpreted & kinda your own stlye

the other song sounds fun

:)

Re: My version of Stevie ray vaughans "Lenny"

I recently purchased the add on packs for the pod xt and straight away the fender blackface vibroverb they have on there gives one of the closest lenny tones I have heard. Im gonna re-record it soon so you can see what im talking about.

Re: My version of Stevie ray vaughans "Lenny"

Good work! Most 22 year olds don't have the feel and hand control that you do.
Those passing notes and chords aren't easy to pull off cleanly and with good feel, but you did your homework obviously. You made great use of a Squier and POD XT because it's convincing........I can only imagine hearing it loud with a Ant Surfer loaded strat into a 63 Vibroverb/Diaz Reissue.

Re: My version of Stevie ray vaughans "Lenny"

I can tell you straight that playing a 5 minute track without the aid of any backing music whatsoever is very hard, its harder than most people think. At least to keep it interesting anyway, and I hope I achieved this. There are only 2 tracks to this recording, if I still had my drum machine I would of added some sort of percussion.

Re: My version of Stevie ray vaughans "Lenny"

Absoulutey beautiful tone. Nice touch too. You got great hands dude.

Beautiful! I love the tone you're getting, great use of the equipment at hand. Shows that it really is up to the player. Great job :D
