my Warmoth project update

The parts came today, I took some quick pictures and am really pleased at how nice this wood is. Very light for mahogany too. I have to pick up a few more things for it, then put it all together. It's mahogany with a spalted maple top, black binding and a birdseye/birdseye maple neck in 24.75 Gibson scale. It's getting black Sperzels and hardware and EMG 85/60. I was hot for a Charvel when I dreamed this one up, but I hate trems and wanted a hradtail.

thats pretty cool man!! I'd love to hear your final opinions once you get it all put together!! :)

Just moments ago I was thinking about what it would be like if I put one of Warmoth's 24.75 conversion necks on my Am. Standard. When you get it done I'd love to hear what you think of it. What pups are you gonna put in there? It looks like it is already finished. What'd Warmoth charge for that?

please tell me thats not your carpet and you took pics in Gracelands "Jungle Room" lol. lookes nice, I've done alot of cool stuff w/ spalted maple, but always thought it wouldnt look too good as a guitar top, but this is changing my mind.

Yep, Mrs. Carrot has some wild tastes. That's the throw rug she put in the living room over the pergo flooring.

Yet another awesome strat owned by the Tat Carrot...almost exactly what I'm gonna have built.

Is your white Strat with the Invader mahoganey too?

Which neck profile did you go with? Standard Thin?

Looking nice ... I dig the top.

The white strat is alder, and I'm dumping the Invader/59 to try some nickel covered Phat Cats in it.

The neck profile on the one above is the standard thin, Warmoth modern construction with double expanding truss rod, compound radious, and a contoured heal. The frets are medium jumbo.

thats gonna be an awesome guitar when its done..... how long did it take to get the stuff from warmoth after you ordered it.

about 6 weeks, which really sucks for GAS. That's the only downside to Warmoth is you can't kill GAS with it since everything takes them 6 weeks or so to complete.

Cool guitar! I want to know how it sounds after it is put together, especially compared to something like an LP.

What you have there is similar to my next Warmoth project (the one after my current project -- I'm expecting a swamp ash strat to arrive in a few weeks). I was thinking of a maple/rosewood Fender type neck on either a mahogany or korina body with some low-output humbuckers.
