Mystery wiring issue

When we were discussing the schematic the other night, I found a YouTube vid where a guy described exactly how the switch works. How each lug works in conjunction with the others depending on what position the switch is in.
After the explanation, he explains how each of the above wiring schemes both work.
Let me see if I can find the video. It may help someone in the future.
Here it is:

Thanks for posting this. I get confused with this stuff if I am not doing it a lot.

When I set out to solder connections it's usually been ages since I've done the last one.

I always have to mentally figure out what connection each switch position will make before I can do any wiring. Otherwise if I make a mistake it takes forever to figure the problem out.

With a normal 5 way / 3 way blade switch it's not complicated to figure out what is connected to what for each position as you can see the physical connections... although it might take a while.

The other day I was going to rewire one of my guitars with a megaswitch e I have had for a few years and never used...after a load of messing around and going back and forth, I ended up just changing the magnet and leaving everything exactly as it was. Unfortunately it came without any explanation of the physical connections.

The only time this happened to me, I had used bare wire for the jumpers. Leaving insulation on the jumper wires and only connecting the tip ends is how I solved it for me. I haven’t seen your complete wiring, so don’t know if that could be it or not.
