January 15th last year the Hwy 1 Tele in my avatar was ripped off and after the insurance company settled I bought a Baja Tele believing the Baja series to be the replacement for the Hwy 1 Tele. For some reason or some combination of reasons I couldn't bond with the Baja and finally sold it to a coworker this past Wednesday. So I went to a local family owned music store to find a Genz-Benz acoustic amp and found this guitar instead. I really kind of fell in love with the color before I ever took it off the rack and when I tried it out I was surprised by the sustain ... really incredible sustain. It is a barely preowned 2013 MIM Special Edition Telecaster. The price was right and the neck and body are good so I bought it to rebuild.
I prefer three saddle bridges on a Tele for that distinct Tele charang sound, but this time I'm going to install Graph Tech Ghost saddles with the preamp and blend switch and so on. Also, I will have a bone nut installed and will replace both pickups. The existing pups are ... uninspiring. I haven't decided, but am considering either a Duncan vintage P-90 in the neck or a Lollar gold foil. For the bridge ... I dunno.

Re: N(U)GD

That's what I used in the modified Hwy 1 Tele and I loved it, but the urge to experiment is always overwhelming.

I know what you mean. I want to try a BG-1400 so bad. But I've got too many irons-in-the-fire right now, if you know what I mean.

I know exactly what you mean. I have two guitar "builds" in progress, yet I can't wait to slice and dice into two of the four whole, playable guitars I own ... the new(ish Tele and the very new American Strat.
