NAD Cornford In Da House

Well if finally got round to buying myself a Cornford Harlequin.

I heard one about 5 years ago and thought what a stonking little amp but it was out of my price range at the time.

So recently I've become a bit disillusioned with my Matamp Minimat, finding just volume and tone a bit restrictive. Don't get me wrong they're great amps. But it was time for a change.

Dropped on a Harlequin locally and I'm loving it.

I had never heard of those amps, but it looks wicked. Congrats on a new amp, specially if you had your eye on it for a while. Best feeling ever.

Re: NAD Cornford In Da House

Spec in case anyone is interested.

Spec: 6 Watts. Class A. Single ended output.

Valves: 2 x 12AX7 (preamp), 1x EL84 (output stage)

Cabinet: Solid pine with dove-tailed corners and ply baffle board permanently dadoed into cabinet.

Dimensions: 600mm x 450mm x 250mm. Covered in custom made ox-blood vinyl.

Speaker: 12 inch Celestion Vintage 30.

Hardware: All corners, screws, cup washers, handle fixings etc are nickel plated. Powder coated chassis. Leather handle.

Transformers: Custom designed in house and hand wound.

Controls:

Hi Input - This is a high impedance input so as to avoid loading passive guitar pick-ups. Treat this as the normal input.

Lo Input - This is a lower impedance of - 6db sensitivity. This is the input to use should you want less gain.

N.B. When both inputs are in use, they are both low sensitivity.

Voice - The voice switch alters the frequency range over which the tone control operates.

Volume - Simultaneously controls the 1st and 2nd gain stages (tandem pot).

Bass - Adjusts the low frequency response of the pre-amp.

Treble - Adjusts the high frequency response of the pre-amp.

Master - Adjusts the overall output level.

Mains - Power on / off switch.

That is such a sweet looking amp! I'm not at all jealous...:D

Congrats again, and play the crap out of that!

Re: NAD Cornford In Da House

Sweet!!

I'm getting rid of my Engl Screamer and I'd like to check Cornford's Roadhouse 30 out. I'm not sure how clean it can be and maybe I should go with a Fender reissue amp and stomp boxes?

Re: NAD Cornford In Da House

Lu, you crack me up.

That looks like a hell of a well-made and classy amplifier that's now, ahem, in da house.

Re: NAD Cornford In Da House

I am totally not jealous of this. Nope. Not at all. I mean, it's an extremely well built amp and I'm sure it sounds divine, but I'm definitely not jealous. Not jealous at all.

Not one bit!

(head explodes)
