NAD: Deal of the DAY content

I was browsing C-list yesterday, and saw this amp listed for $50. Must be something wrong, but that kind of thing doesn't scare me, so I went to check it out. Everything worked when I demo'd it, so I brought it home. Later, it made a crackling sound that I remember from having a tube red-plate in my Ampeg Jet, and sure enough one of the power tubes was glowing. I switched them to the other sockets, and waited to see if the tube or the socket was bad. The red-plating followed the tube, so I chucked it out and got a replacement from my stash, and now it runs fine.

So for $50 and a couple of my own tubes, I got this SCXD, and am totally stoked.

Nothing like cheap amplification! More decibels for your dead presidents!

oh man, nice score. That's one of the amps I want pretty bad. Well, the X2.
$50 is a cannot-pass-up cost.

For sure. I've wanted this one since it came out, and at that price I couldn't afford to not get it.

I hope the lady I got it from doesn't think I'm sitting around pissed over a bum amp, because it was such an easy fix. Most of the problems with tube amps are the tubes, after all.
