NAD/ Fender Princeton Reverb! 1969/70! Silverface Content!

A few weeks ago, I posted a thread asking for assistance in purchasing some vintage Fender amps. It took me a while to find the right Princeton Reverb in the right condition, but when I did, I jumped at the chance.

The only real negative to this amp was the grill cloth being patched together from a bunch of different places, it seemed like. I didn't want to make a post about this amp until I fixed it up to the best of my ability--but here we are!

Not the prettiest job, but I did what I could without any helpers. I think I did alright for a first time try. It's not exactly the most taut or even looking, but anything was preferable to before, believe me.

I'll put the badge back on after I buy some new shorter screws that will go into the cabinet without giving me trouble.

Also recorded a really quick sound demo that doesn't sound terrific. No effects or anything, besides the amp's reverb and tremolo. Played with a Fender Jaguar with a crummy condenser mic placed badly on the floor, off axis a few feet away from the amp.

Excuse the playing, I'm a fan of the 90s stuff.

Nice! You'll like that amp. I think they sound even better with a 1 x 12" extension cabinet under them. The combination of the 10" and 12" speakers gives it a fuller tone.

The Weber speaker in it sounds really good. The recording didn't really capture the bass correctly, but there actually is a good deal more. Engaging the high-pass filter on the Jaguar really does away with that, so I only used it sparingly.

I'll do some better recordings when I have time!

Very cool my man!

I know you looked a lot and read a lot so I hope you enjoy the results of all your work!

Liking the amp a lot. Really suits my playing style. Also great for recording--I'll try to do it better justice next time I record it. I just hope this amp will take kindly to pedal distortion, since fuzzes and overdrives are gonna be what I throw at it.

I'll re-attemp the grill when I feel like doing another small project.

tgif was incredibly helpful with this amp and its acquisition, so many thanks!

Now I just have to pick your brain on what kind of fuzz I ought to get. :D
