Re: NAD!!!! Finally have the amp I've been lusting over for years!!!
Sorry for the crummy quality and the sloppy playing. I just used my phone to take the recordings. I'm leaving for a week tomorrow morning and haven't packed yet, and I don't want to waste time setting up my brother's recording setup. I tried out every pedal I have on the thing, and my favorites were a simple clean boost, an EHX Soul Food, and a Bluesbreaker clone. It didn't really like my MXR Classic OD very much, which was disappointing. I'm going to be pedal shopping here shortly. Going to add a nicer Klone (probably the J Rockett Archer or the Wampler Tumnus), possibly a Wampler Paisley, and when my name comes up (hopefully this fall), a KoT. The recordings were all done sans pedals. Just one cable straight into the amp. I'll make some more when I get back, and I'll actually use a real recording setup this time around. I might take more pictures with an actual camera instead of my phone as well.
As far as the amp goes, it was well worth the wait. I couldn't get a bad sound out of this beauty. I can see myself using just the amp, and maybe one pedal, for a lot of shows. Its very responsive to changes in guitar, as well as volume and tone knob manipulation and picking dynamics. Having the ability to split the humbuckers on my #1 tele gives me a ton of flexibility in tones with just one guitar. Pack my strat and #2 tele along, and I'll have everything I need.
My next gig isn't until May 20th, which kinda sucks, but I'll be taking this to practice with me most of the time. It's also super lightweight, which is a nice change after hauling my Twin around for the last 6 months or so.
I couldn't be happier!
