NAD: Friedman Cantrell JJ100

Re: NAD: Friedman Cantrell JJ100

Thanks! It's much fun to play. I'm at work right now. Can't wait to get home and plug in.

I have one coming tomorrow. I can't wait to let it roar. It's the most coin I have ever spent on a an amp so I hope it blows me away. I also have a Bogner XTC, EVH 5153 and Baron B60.

BTW, I'm new to this forum. I have the same username on the Gear Page.

Cool man! I hope you dig it as much as I do. I sold a 20th Anniv Bogner XTC for the JJ. The XTC is a fantastic amp as well. Never played a Baron, but I like the XTC and JJ much better than the 5153. The JJ for me is just instant gratification on the drive channel. Love it.

Don't worry, it's new to me too. Just go with it.

Really though, sounds great.

lololol Thanks man! This is the amp if you want something that does clean and heavy. Not so much for light crunch or blues. But the heavier dirt tones are the best.

Nice looking head. What's it run for tubes? Love the straightforward eq section.

That sounds perfect. I prefer to get my crunch tones from a pedal anyway.

Re: NAD: Friedman Cantrell JJ100

Heavy stuff on the JBE setting. Straight in with a GL Legacy HB, JB bridge.
SM57 on V30, PG27 on H75, moved away from center for last clip, less highs.

Re: NAD: Friedman Cantrell JJ100

honestly, i didn't expect it to sound so tight and dry.

sounds awesome dude. your playing sounds like you're having a blast! Dig the chops too. Nice to see a killer expensive amp purchase by a dude who has the chops to warrant spending that kind of money.

Re: NAD: Friedman Cantrell JJ100

I gotta give it to ya, that amp's got BALLS! Makes me want one really badly.

By the way, you should totally start a band or something, you got some killer riffs going there, (Correct me if they happen to be someone else's).

Even if they are, you got some killer chops mang.

Re: NAD: Friedman Cantrell JJ100

Thanks! You guys are too kind. I'm a hobbiest at best. I haven't played out or regularly with a band since 1998.
All of that is stuff I made up, mostly right when I recorded it, except the Metallica and Megadeth riffs.
That's mostly what I do now. Come home from work, or get up on my days off, and jam in my music room. Making up and recording stuff for fun.
