NAD: Mesa content

Re: NAD: Mesa content

Pretty sick Ace. I mean Dallas. I mean Bob.

Calling Doctor Freud - we got a live one!

Re: NAD: Mesa content

did you get series I or series II?

I got the Series II.

The original one I was playing was a series I. I loved everything about it. But after doing a little research, I found that the series II was going to be a touch more in my direction.

Consensus seemed to be that Channel 1 crunch was a touch better on the series I, and Gain was better on Series II. Honestly, I don't see how you could lose either way.

This thing is so freaking flexible! It can be tweaked to perfection.

50 watt, fluid gain, spongy with tube rectifier is just soooo VH I. Brown like three days of eating salad in Tiajuana.
100 watt tite gain with bold and silicon diode is just pure brutal. Down tune to D and hit it hard to just loosen your bowels from the pure thump factor.

I'm kind of thinking silicon diode, 50 watt fluid gain on bold is "my" sound.

Crunch is very cool too. Great all around rhythm sound that is very reactive to the pickups.

I REALLY love the dirt simple flight controls:

Master volume way on left. On the right => Channel volume, presence, bass, mid, treble, and gain all in a neat row.

Re: NAD: Mesa content

What the Deuce?!

It's worth a Deuce?!

Sorry I could go on and on about Deuce because you're Aceman but... HAPPY NAD!

Tell me about it. I got the ACE which is alao a series II. The clean channel is to die for. Probably one of the best cleans on a high gain amp by far. Ive been mainly using tite gain which is fantastic. Only problem is its a decently noisy amp, gate helps out. Jjs help out a lot due to the bright nature of the amp.

Re: NAD: Mesa content

It's the JCM800 that everyone wants from Marshall but would never buy from Mesa.

Re: NAD: Mesa content

Does this mean you're now the Deuceman?

Time for a new tribute band: Acey Deucey

Re: NAD: Mesa content

Nice amp Ace. Did you hang on to the VS100? I don't think I would have used mine a lot after buying the JCM. However, there are times I miss having it. Especially for random jams where I just want to throw something in the car.

Re: NAD: Mesa content

I absolutely kept the VS100 - not getting rid of that ever...

I get so many haters AFTER they find out what it is. 8080s and VS100s, and even the VS2000 50 watt head are all freaking awesome boxes.

But this Mesa can make every sound I ever wanted from a Marshall and then some!

Oh yeah - from Crunch to time to fluid - but again, gain is gain. And this thing has way more than anyone needs.

I was making some seriously awesome sounds with both my US Dream and my Nose Mean Green Clean boost into crunch on channel one.

Re: NAD: Mesa content

Too bad they never made a 3 channel so you could get Tite Clean/Fat Clean, Crunch & Tite Gain/Fluid Gain.

If I end up with a Stiletto, I'm blaming you! :headbang:

Re: NAD: Mesa content

Manchester Music Mill in NH has one for 800.... 100 watt head, you can probably talk them down to 700.

Yeah, big mistake by me selling that amp. I have my head on a swivel in case one pops up for short money. Congrats again on the Mesa.

Re: NAD: Mesa content

Great amp! Welcome to the Mesa club. I wanna try that amp some day. I am not that familiar with that model, so tell me: What does it do? What was it designed for?
