NAD Randall Thrasher

Re: NAD Randall Thrasher

I do.like having all of the reserve gain of the 5153. I too have it at about 10-11 oclock. Although its tight it has a wet/bouncy sag feel kinda. The rd does not. Im still having mixed feelings on the rd. Sometime Ill try a thrasher or satan.

What don't you like about the RD?

Re: NAD Randall Thrasher

For me its just missing midrange. I feel its just missing some frequencies. I would like to have more gain from it too. Also the boost doesn't boost where Id like it to. Tough to pinpoint.

Re: NAD Randall Thrasher

I get where you're coming from. I didn't get the chance to mess with tubes, but the stock tubes are about as cheap as you can get. I think some nice tungsol 12ax7's might do the trick.

Re: NAD Randall Thrasher

Ive tried lots of different preamp tubes including Tung Sols. It didn't change too much. I haven't changed power tubes.

Did your come with all Ruby tubes? Specifically 12ax7ac5hg? I did buy mine second hand and those were in it.

Re: NAD Randall Thrasher

Thanks. My new favorite is the Ltd MH-307. It's kinda beat up, but the.neck is amazing.

srsly? I had the M307 (which I *thought* had the same kinda neck, but maybe not?) as a kid, and maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan did I hate that neck. never woulda bought it offline, but all that Floyd Rose (licensed, haha) and EMG (hzs, which really arent) advertising attracted teenagers like my-then-self like moths to the flame... and over the web, you couldn't even tell

To each their own.

There people that shred happily on a fatback '59 profile neck, and people who do the same on the nothingness of a EBMM JP neck.

I like the ESP/LTD necks, and I guess I'm a kid at heart, or as you seem to put it, a sucker for sub-par guitars. But I'm not saying this to defend my choices. What I'd really like to say is, I've seen your posts lately and you tend to come off as condescending, so I'd appreciate if you'd change the tone of your posts while addressing me. If you want share you're experiences with your licensed Floyd bridges, then let's talk. If you wanna dog my gear, then GTFO.

Hey i like my esp esp neck...liked their ltd ec500 neck, the old one, the new ec1000s are soso

I just never saw anyone praise the necks on their ltd 307s. Wondered if the MH was different, or hey, mb you have superlong fingers or smthn? Mine felt wiiiiiide and flatter than kansas

Gear? I see plenty cool stuff in that pic, im just surprised the cheapest plainest item is whats giving you a happy and wondering how that happened....oh well to each his own. Although if you ever have the spontaneous wish to donate that soso amplification youre unsure about to the poor, hey...im poor, lemme know :-)

The licensed floyd sharing thing: use soft wrenches that quickly degrade and become useless..using good wrenches, its the floyd thatll quickly degrade on the 307s.

What's your problem dude? Do you not understand proper social etiquette? Just tone down the elitist crap, you're nothing but text on a screen as far as I'm concerned. This is the last response you'll get from me.

Re: NAD Randall Thrasher

<3 u 2 man

Think you could maybe react at my level of alleged impoliteness when commenting on it? No need for reproductive organ symbolism, we have geetazs for dat

I can say, without any hint of sarcasm, that this was very well thought out way of saying that.

It's not necessarily your intentions behind your comments, it's just that the way you have been coming off is elitist.

Be careful of how you word things, and try to keep your intentions clear, and you will be accepted a little better around here.

I'm not trying to be a dbag back to you, I'm just trying to show you very clearly how your posts have been interpreted. I'm trying to help you out.

While his wording was hard to decipher, I think this is what he is trying to get across:

He saying that you've got a really nice bunch of gear, and that he's surprised that you'd pick the mh-307 as your pick of the litter.

So I think he's trying to complement your gear whilst trying understand your love for that particular guitar.

I disagree. I think he's either trying to prove something beyond the scope of necessary constructive criticism, which only serves the purpose of some elitist schtick that he's holding on to, or there is some kind of cultural communication gap that I'm not understanding.
