NAD the amp fender never made but should have.

Chickenwings

Alnico 6/8
Been waiting months for all the pieces to fit together but it will play its first gig today.
Bassman 50 in a 1x12 combo. I had the combo built specially and installed a hammond transformer so it run at 8 ohms thru a texas heat 12. Twang for days. All new electrolytic caps and fresh tubes.Twice the power of a deluxe and half the weight of a twin. Lovely rich overtones and the low notes hold together and pack a wallop.

Something cool that maybe you guys stateside have not seen: a selectable voltage power transformer

sounds like a sweet amp! pretty much stock on both channels?

Re: NAD the amp fender never made but should have.

This is all kinds of awesome. I'm sure I'm not alone in wishing for a Bassman in a smaller format. Fender would probably sell a ton of those.

That sounds like a very promising combo. I am muy jealous. Congrats!

One of my longtime desires has been a B.F. Super Reverb in a shorter cab – maybe 2x10, 1x12, or even 1x15.

Yep rarely see those here. We had a real MK 2 C+ Boogie combo at a Pawn shop I was working in was the last one I saw. Thought the guy was going to let it go at one time and I was drooling at the chance to snag that one!!
That looks like a really cool rig and am looking forward to hearing some of your clips with her!

Would think that should sound a LOT like a Vibro King which is one of my all time favorite clean amps! Waiting on a clip or 2 so--.

Yeah. No real tone mods done. I thought about doing something to the nfb lool but it sounds just fine as it is so I dont think I'll do anything to it. I really wanted something with headroom and clarity. It's got a nicer clean tone than the twin so I'm happy. Only done one gig so far but it worked great. Cant think of anything to change for the job I put it together for. Clean tone is real nice and compresses ever so slightly and naturally. Havent really cranked it past five. No need. It sounds great just pumping out a sweet warm rich and responsive clean.

That's probably why on the '68 Custom series the Custom channel has a Bassman tone stack.

Clever marketing by fender but there is a lot more to an amp than a couple of capacitors looking after the eq curve in the preamp.

That is stunning. Those voltage selectable models were made for export markets (obviously..), and we see a few of them here in Australia as we run 240v standard.

I'm about to do a similar thing with an old bandmaster. They only released them as heads with piggyback cabs and the headshell on this one is not original, so into a 1x12 combo it will go. The amp is with my tech now getting an overhaul, then I need to get the cab built. So I need to think about tolex and grille cloth etc..

Where did you get your cabinet and what is the tolex and cloth on yours? It looks great!

If you are in new south wales give eric bellingham a call at EB Amps and cabs. He has done four amps for me now, a tweed deluxe, a princeton with a 12, one of his own amps based on a jtm 45 and this one. His work is top shelf and he liked working on cool vintage projects. You can choose the type of wood and whatever you like re: tolex and grillcloth.
This one is a wheat grill with rough fender cream tolex. The choices out there are pretty varied tho. Choosing your fave combination is the hard part.
Just check what ohms resistance your band master needs. You may want to have a look at replacing the transformer if you are running an 8 ohm load. Replacement trannys are usually less than 150aussie from evatco amps. Just check the original fender part number. Pretty easy to swap them if you get a drop in replacement.
