NAD - Tweaker 15

I got it used for $250, the price of a nice pedal. The Fender stuff is great, I love my hardwire reverb in the loop in spring mode, surfer all day long. 15 watts means it can get gritty when you crank it, but in a good way! I don't play smooth jazz or anything so I can handle the heat, but if you tweak accordingly you can get some pretty clean cleans.

On the flip side, the heavy Marshall crunch (and dare I say metal) is more than I ever expected. Oh, a 15 watter not tight enough for you? Well, it's got this thing called the TIGHT switch. Bam! Seriously, insane gain on tap. The other amps I've owned go from 1-11 when a soft breeze blows on the knob. The tweaker goes from 1 to 2 to 3 and so forth on up to 11. This amp is begging me to make sound clips of every style of music I can think of to prove it's versatility and I have been known to follow through on such things.

In general, the knobs and switches on this amp mean BUSINESS. This is no gimic, you have the freaking amp version of a Transformer when you get this amp. At this point, I feel like this is really the only amp that I need to own, but I like my re-housed xxx for sentimental value and for backup.

Bottom line: the tweaker is ridiculous for the price. Ridiculous. Get one!

P.S. I don't have anything to say about VOX and have no idea why I would want my tweaker to sound like one, so I'm perfectly happy ignoring that mode for the time being.

Congrats!! I've got one and love it.Forget the Vox mode is a Vox. It's not. Try this with it:Modern/VX/Bright/Tight/HotBass and treble high, mids around 9 o' clock, plenty of gain and master to taste. Hopefully loud. And welcome to the hidden Rectifier mode. :D

Re: NAD - Tweaker 15

I've recently fallen in love with the tweaker but I just need to hear it at a gig. I am hoping it loud enough to hold its own.

Few months ago, I purchased Head & Combo and Cabinet

I run them in stereo from the Lex for house noise.

Thanks for the tip! I'll try that out, seems like most people use the ac mode for high gain stuff

I hear ya, I'll report back when I've had a chance to play it in the practice space with a drummer.
