NAD

Re: NAD

Does this mean that you are finally going to stop faffing about with modified MIM Jaguars and the like? :D

My local Fender dealer knows a good amplifier when he sees (and hears) one. The DSL is one of the two Marshall lines that he reckons is any good. (This is the same dealer who is "encouraging" me to purchase either a Cornell Romany Plus or the Fender Custom Vibrolux that has been languishing in his shop for three years.)

Yes.

Re: NAD

Marshall DSL401 from 2000.

It came with a vintage 30 and Ei tubes.

Sounds great with my Les Paul.

Of course it does.

I can also say from experience the JCM2000 DSL's are superior to the current ones. Both DSL's for sure, but only one worthy of the JCM badge.

You know, I tried the new DSL40c and that amp sounds lifeless compared to my current 401.

Re: NAD

I also tried the DSL40 and thought it was a fizzy mess with no crunch and way too shy in the mids at low volumes. Maybe it opens up when loud? I wouldn't know.

Either way, that's a damn sweet setup you got right there man. Congratulations!

Re: NAD

I Do Not want to start a Old Vs New tube debate.....I like A LOT of new tubes.......but it sure is a shame Ei went away.
Nice rig BTW. I am, kind of, a plain-top guy.......but your Gibson looks fabulous.
Enjoy.! :)
