Re: NAD !!!

I like the matching 400w cab also. Hard to find though. I see plenty of the 280w cabs.
Bet that's the lightest of the three heads by far! lol

Re: NAD !!!

18, LOL

Let us know about the Mode 4, haven't seen many of those in the wild, don't know much about them except they are solid state.

You should have got the Dee Sss El, that's what the people on the Marshall forum recommend, everytime I pimp the Dee Sss El I get likes!

Marshall forum along with My Les Paul two of the worst websites on the planet. Neither one has any official affiliation with either Marshall Amps UK LTD or Gibson guitar. As for the mode 4 its a relic made to compete with the Randall SS amp market. Don't see the amps anymore but often see the M4 cabs for sale as they have some version of V30's in them.

Re: NAD !!!

Congrats with the new amp!
Now you got all you need to demolish your house from the inside out!! :)

Have fun with it bro!

Re: NAD !!!

I think I remember seeing those in guitar mag ads . . . but never managed to find a mode four in real life to play through. What does it sound like? It was huge wattage from what I remember.

Re: NAD !!!

Had to pull the power switch out and work on it for a bit, got it working good enough until the replacement from Marshall arrives....6 weeks is what they said.

I dusted it out with compressed air and installed brand new Mullard 12àx's. Sounds killer!

Here's the first quick tone from the 3 dirt channels
Amp1 Crunch, then Amp2 OD1 and OD2

Re: NAD !!!

Alex Skolnick once said he thought it was the best Marshall ever made.

Truth is I already had one of these, but it blew up.... Had it fixed and sold it . . . . But ever since then, I've been dreaming of getting another one because I really like the tone of it. I know alot of people snub it as a glorified avt, but I've owned a few AVT's and this is waay better sounding than those. IMHO

They are finicky and prone to overheating failure, but for what it's worth, I really like the amp.

It's got its own very Marshall thing going on, not as growling as a DSL, more like a bite than a growl. Its not as smooth as the jcm2000, loads more gain than any Marshall I've ever played. It can be brutal or even buzzsaw if you gain it out. It can clean up pretty well. Plays with pedals very well.
I'll get some real sound recorded if it ever drops below 100 degrees in my garage!

It's 350 watts.

Re: NAD !!!

Do you have a deal with your wife? How does she treat herself whenever you get a new amp? Or can you even still hear her when she talks?
