Got it on a trade ive had a MK III combo, a MK IV head & a 3 channel Dual Rec it looks like ive come full circle and now that Gibson has bought Boogie i got my piece of the pie.
Seller had 5881's in it & all JJ preamp.
After i put a quad of EL-34's & some NOS glass in the Pre sounding proper.
Whole lotta Boogie in a small package.

the mark I is the first real high gain amp. its not a metal tone but its fat and sustainy. ac/dc is just a cranked marshall with paf tone, not as dirty as ya think, but boy is it righteous

Randall Smith tells the story Keef wanted his Boogie's pro-bono, Smith said nope gotta pay.
MK I's were made from 1971 to 1978.
Smith is credited with the first master volume amp & first cascaded preamp for guitar amps about 10 years before anyone else.
I called MESA support today for info on my amp, they have always and continue to be great.
I asked the man about Gibson buying Mesa 2 years ago, he said Randall is still running around and its pretty much business as usual.
He said Mesa has been impressed with Gibson's computer data systems. Im sure Boogie's will be around for a long time.
